Are You Learning-on-the-move?
We all learn something new everyday.
With the speed of how things move these days, we need to be able to learn, unlearn, and relearn on the go.
“To go”, as your friendly Starbucks barrister would say, that is the same idea we must have when it comes to learning.
I would like to propose three things we can leverage on to help us do that.
1) Technology: smart phones, tablets, netbooks, are all awesome tools that we have available to most of us for a small fee. It has never been easier to learn on-the-go these days. Fire up your smart phone and you’d have access to the Internet, e-books, references, and knowledge. So, how we use technology to help us do all that is something we need to closely examine. Are you using technology for easy access to information and knowledge to help you become more effective?
2) Social Tools: RSS Readers, Twitter, Facebook, can all be deployed to help us learn as well as learn from one another. So, if all your friends are interested in are games and time wasting activities, it is time to un-friend them. Ask yourself, do you use social media tools purely on time wasting activities or do you use these tools for collaborative learning?
3) Cloud: Google Docs is probably an important platform to pay attention to. It allows us to collaborate and comment on each others work on-the-go. So, are you taking full advantage of it?
Consider re-aligning the way you use these tools to see how effective are you with learning-on-the-move.
